Track decisions without losing the budget
Enter each allowance from the proposal. When the client picks an item, add its actual selection cost. Leave that field blank while the decision is pending; a blank is not a free fixture.
Use the same basis on both sides. A material-only allowance should be compared with a material-only selection price. If tax and delivery are included in the allowance, include them in the selection cost too.
How the difference is calculated
The difference for a selected item is its cost minus its allowance. A $2,100 vanity against a $1,800 allowance is $300 over. An unselected $1,200 fixture allowance remains pending, with no assumed savings.
The projected total holds pending items at their allowance amounts and adds the known differences. It is a working forecast, not a final invoice. The summary shows the remaining selection count so no one mistakes it for a closed budget.
Turn a selection into a documented decision
Share the worksheet when a selection changes the budget. Record the chosen model, supplier, finish, and delivery expectations in the item name or your project records.
An upgrade can change installation labor as well as material cost. Review that labor, any agreed markup, and the payment terms separately. Use a change order when the agreed contract amount or scope needs to change.

No. They remain at their original allowance in the projected total until you enter a selection cost.
Is this a final amount to charge the client?+
No. It tracks selection cost differences. Added labor, markup, tax treatment, and contract terms may affect the final approved change.
